STEPHENVILLE, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' baseball team lost to Tarleton State, 3-0, on Tuesday evening in non-conference action.

Tarleton scored a pair of runs in the first inning on a Landon Thompson double. Noah Ringenberger had an RBI single in the sixth inning.

Jordan Dotson took the loss for the Cowboys. He allowed two runs in three and one-third innings. Alex Bradley worked three and two-third innings of one-run ball. Parker Robinson worked a scoreless eighth for HSU.

Jason Vause, Matt Hannagan and Jon Finney had the three HSU hits. Andrew Jacobi and Evan Robinson had two hits each to lead Tarleton. The Texans used eight different pitchers in the game.

Most of the Cowboy regulars got the day off in preparation for this weekend's series with Howard Payne. HSU is tied for fourth place in the American Southwest Conference West Division and only the top four teams advance to the league's championship series next weekend.

The Cowboys are now 16-18 on the year. They will conclude the regular season this weekend at home against Howard Payne. Tarleton State improved to 18-18 on the year.
