APD: Man Tries Twice to Flee Following Traffic Stop

Yesterday afternoon at 4:05 agents of the Special Operations Division executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of Fannin. A male subject and a female subject were found to be in possession of dangerous drugs. They were placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone, possession of Hydrocodone, and possession of Tramadol. They were both transported to the Taylor County Jail.

Last night at 11:00 Officer Brian Poyner made a traffic stop in the 2800 block of South 25th. The male driver showed to have an arrest warrant for forgery. He was placed under arrest and in the search incident to arrest was found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. He was also charged with possession of marijuana.

And finally at 12:08 a.m. Officer Brandon Scott made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Briarwood. A male passenger in the vehicle ran from the traffic stop. The passenger was identified and had an outstanding arrest warrant for felon in possession of a firearm. Sgt Jason Haak located this subject who again tried to evade on foot and was eventually apprehended. He was charged with evading arrest as well as the warrant.
