Updated: April 18, 2012
Snyder ISD announced today the finalist for the Athletic Director/ Head Football Coach position.

Aubrey Sims, presently the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Class 2A Grandview, will be presented for approval to the Snyder ISD School Board Monday night.

Sims has coached at Grandview since 2005 compiling a 63-18 record. His teams at Grandview have a district record of 29-2 and have played 15 playoff games in 7 seasons. Prior to Coach Sims arrival the Grandview football teams had a record of 35-36.

Snyder ISD Superintendent Dr. Randy Brown commented, "We had a great field of applicants to choose from. The decision was ultimately a very easy one because Coach Sims clearly stood out as man of character who makes a difference. We are obviously impressed with his football record; however, what set Coach Sims apart was the success of the entire girls and boys programs at Grandview. He is also very supportive of academics and all extra-curricular activities. He definitely fits with our vision of excellence in everything we do. He will be a great fit with our kids, coaches, staff members, and community. We are excited to bring this outstanding young coach to Snyder."

Coach Sims is married to Nikki, who is a Physical Therapist. They have two daughters, Reagan (10) and Rylie (7).

Coach Sims commented "I am very grateful and deeply honored to have been selected to lead the Snyder athletic program. My family is very excited as we have seen and heard great things about the community and schools. I can't wait to get started as we work to continue the great Tiger tradition".

The Snyder ISD Board will vote to hire Coach Sims at 6:00 p.m., Monday April 23 at a board meeting to be held in the High School Library.

Following the board meeting the Booster Club will hold a reception for the community to welcome and meet Coach Sims.

The reception will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the new High School cafeteria. More information about Coach Sims can be found on the Snyder ISD website at http://www.snyderisd.net
