APD: Drunken Driver Enters One-Way Exit Ramp

Last night at approximately 9:30, Officer Mark Thomas contacted a motorist for a traffic violation in the 1400 block of Butternut Street. During his investigation, Officer Thomas discovered that the male driver of the vehicle had several outstanding probation and felony warrants. During a search of the subject, the man was found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. The man was arrested on the warrants and for possession of marijuana.
Last night just before midnight, Officer Paul Martinez was dispatched to an accident in the 3200 block of Pine Street. Officer Martinez contacted a male driver from one of the involved vehicles. During his investigation, he discovered that this male subject had indicators of intoxication and that the man had driven the vehicle the wrong way onto a one-way exit ramp, resulting in an accident without injuries. The driver was given standard field sobriety tests which he failed. The driver was arrested and taken to county jail where he provided breath samples. Breath samples taken revealed the driver's BAC to be 0.201 and 0.206. The man was arrested for an enhanced misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated due to his level of intoxication being above a blood-alcohol content of 0.15.
