"We loved Elexus," says her aunt.

She was a small girl with a lot of personality.

Her uncle Edward DeLeon explains, "I don't think she was even five foot, but she was close to five foot, but she would just demand attention and respect, and when she'd come in to a room, she thought she was the biggest person in that room."

Which is why family members often referred to her as "Hollywood".

"My mom would just want to go pump gas or something and she's like hold on, let me get ready, and my mom's like Elexus we're just going to the gas station, yeah ,but you don't know who you'll ever meet," says her sister Danielle Sanchez.

Memories like these will be no more, after a car wreck took the 16-year-old's life.

"We're not pointing fingers, we're not this could have been prevented, anything like that. We are trying to get our niece, our loved one in her resting place," says DeLeon.

In a school project from earlier this year, Elexus wrote what she wanted people to remember her by.

"She even said that she was short, crazy, funny, talkative, she was a lover of family and friends," says Sanchez.

Elexus also wanted to see the future, and in that future she would live the country life.

"She wanted a horse and she loved all the farm animals and that's what she really wanted, a horse," Sanchez continues.

Her family says she is in a better place.

Although she's been gone only four days, her presence is already greatly missed.

"I'm out here at my mom's house and it's so full but yet, it feels so empty in here without her. There's like so many people here but she's not. We just want to let her know that we love her and we'd never forget her," says Sanchez.
