By: Officer George Spindler, APD
Updated: April 20, 2012
Yesterday at approximately 6:50 p.m., Officer Christopher Hall contacted a motorist in the 1500 block of Belmont Avenue after noting the vehicle's registration expired in 2008. The male driver produced an identification card during this traffic stop. A records check revealed that the man's driving privileges were suspended and that he was driving with an invalid license. Further investigation revealed that the man had three prior convictions for driving while license invalid. Officer Hall also observed that the vehicle's state inspection matched another vehicle. The man was arrested and found to also be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. The man was charged with possession of marijuana, display fictitious inspection, and for driving while license invalid.

Last night at approximately 9:35, Officer Carye Adkins responded to a call involving a male subject banging on the calling party's window in the 5200 block of Lamesa Avenue. The resident reported that she did not know the man and that the man was yelling. Officer Adkins contacted a male subject at the residence and observed that the man had obvious indicators of intoxication. His investigation revealed that the man believed his wallet had been stolen by someone at the residence and that the man had attempted to enter the home. The man was arrested for public intoxication and his wallet was located in his vehicle.

Last night at approximately 11:40, Officer Michael Garcia was dispatched to a disturbance in progress call in the 1900 block of Sewell Street. APD was notified that a man and woman had been arguing outdoors on several occasions. His investigation revealed that a husband and wife were involved in an argument and that the wife was intoxicated during this argument. The argument escalated and the wife assaulted the husband with her hand. The wife was arrested for assault family violence.
