Hospital officials say the 3-year-old child injured in a strange accident in south Abilene on Thursday stayed overnight for treatment and observation.

She was thrown from a Jeep after a two-vehicle accident on Sayles Boulevard, and landed in the bed of the pickup truck that was also involved in the collision.

Abilene police say her father was trying to help her get into her child safety seat when the wreck happened.

The little girl is listed in fair condition.
