Just in time for Earth Day, this new LED light bulb is promising a lifetime of 20 years, helping to save both time and energy costs for those who use it. While the price of this bulb is set around $60, a number of hardware stores such as Lowe's, are offering different wattage and price ranges on the LED bulbs.
"Back in the days when we were using the old incandescent bulbs, we're talking maybe three or four months and you're changing the bulbs every so often" says Leroy Haynes, the department manager of lighting and electrical at a local Lowe's Home Improvement store. "Well with the new bulbs, the good thing about them, they're going to last you 30,000 hours. So we're not changing bulbs as rapidly as possible. The other advantage is the savings you're going to get on it."
These bulbs also prove to be eco-friendly since less light bulbs will be dumped into our land-fills at a time.
