APD: Woman Jumped, Stabbed in Parking Lot

On Friday afternoon at approximately 1:15, Officer Coby Wright responded to a suspicious person call in the 4100 block of Amarillo Street. Upon his arrival at the scene, he observed a male subject exiting a storage unit. His investigation revealed that the subject had forcibly opened the storage unit and was intent on stealing some electrical supplies. The subject did not have permission to enter the storage unit and was arrested for felony burglary of a building. He was also warned not to return to the property.

Early Saturday morning at approximately 12:30, APD was notified by a female victim that she had been cut during a physical altercation and that she was en route to the hospital. Officer Paul Martinez was dispatched to this assault call. Officer Martinez learned that prior to the assault, the female victim was in a parking lot at a business in the 5000 block of US Highway 277 and that an unknown female driver in another vehicle had confronted her. The confrontation got physical and several other unknown female suspects started fighting with the victim. The victim had a stab wound and had other visible injuries. A report for aggravated assault was taken and the investigation continues.

On Sunday evening at approximately 10:18, Officer Rusty Antilley contacted a motorist in the 800 block of North 11th Street for a traffic violation. A K-9 officer assisted in this traffic stop. During the investigation, the K-9 alerted on the vehicle for the presence of narcotics. The male driver was searched and found to be in possession of cocaine. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, to wit: Cocaine.
