names like Nicholas, Railsback, Watson are a few of just a few of the players off of last year's team who will be strapping it up to play college football next season.
But head coach Todd Moebes knows he'll have to have some guys step up and take on bigger roles this season, and that starts right now in spring practice.
"When you've got to replace a solid group like that, it's a tall order," he said. "But we've got confidence in guys, we've got coming up. By the time we get out there when we are playing Rider, they've had 16 spring ball work outs and a lot of practices in two a days and a scrimmage underneath their belts, so I anticipate them being ready."
Quarterback Lorenzo Joe burst on to the scene last season as a wide receiver and he looks for more of the same thing from some of this year's unknowns.
"They're going to step up, and make big plays," he said. "They might not -- just like last year, no one knew who I was, and that's the same thing with these guys. They're going to come out of nowhere, and their going to make some names out of themselves, watch."
Coach Moebes knows that spring practice is all about getting better at your own game.
"It's a time to be able to focus on fundamentals and execution of the game," he said. "It's time to really focus on us and prepare for us, to get better at what we're doing and then leave two-a-days in the fall and the week of preparation for somebody else, to worry about an opponent."
