RICHARDSON, Texas -- After a makeup doubleheader on Monday evening that affected the ASC East standings, the pairings for this weekend's American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament have been announced and Hardin-Simmons will open against defending champion East Texas Baptist at noon on Thursday at Oran Good Park in Farmer's Branch.

The six-team double elimination tournament will run Thursday through Saturday. Mary Hardin-Baylor (24-15), Hardin-Simmons (23-15) and Howard Payne (19-19) are the three teams from the ASC West. Texas-Tyler (32-7), Louisiana College (25-11) and East Texas Baptist (23-14) are the ASC East qualifiers.

Hardin-Simmons is making its seventh appearance in the tournament in the nine-year history of the program and its fourth straight. HSU is 10-8 all-time in the tournament and won the league title in 2006 and 2007.
