The Texas Department of Transportation has announced a new project to encourage people to wear their seat belts.

This spring's "Click It or Ticket" campaign begins next Tuesday.

Texas law enforcement officers will be strictly enforcing the state seat belt laws for drivers and passengers. The law requires all passengers to wear their seat belts in the front and back seats.

People who don't use their seat belts could be fined up to $250, and could have to pay additional charges for court costs.
