The Abilene High girls doubles team of Caroline Morris and Marlee Cutbirth are headed to the State Tennis Tournament for the 1st time.

The Eagles duo, who happen to be best friends, was put together 2 weeks before the District Tournament, and have done quite well.

2nd place finishes at the District Tournament and the Regional Tournament have them headed to Austin.

Morris said, "I always wanted to play with her because Marlee's such a strong doubles player, but she's been so good at mixed.  Then we had the opportunity to play, and I was really happy.

Cutbirth added, "We've known each other since 1st grade we've been best friends, so we kind of know each other, we can be honest with each other on the court. We don't get made at each other, so we're kind of know each other well enough to where we're going to do the right things, and we're gonna benefit from each other."

Morris and Cutbirth begintheir fight for a state championship on Monday. Their 1st match is at 11:45.
