ABILENE - Abilene Christian's men's and women's tennis teams have been rewarded with home matches for the start of next week's NCAA Championships after each finished the year ranked first in the South Central Region.

The 16th-ranked Wildcats' men's team (19-8) begins its tournament run vs. Northwest Missouri State (19-4) on Monday, April 30, while the sixth-ranked women's squad (23-3) will have a bye before facing the winner of St. Edward's (14-9) and Central Oklahoma (15-6) on Tuesday, May 1. All matches will take place at the Eager Tennis Pavilion, but times have not been determined.

The winner of each bracket advances to the NCAA Division II National Championship, which will take place May 16 to 19 in Louisville, Ky.

ACU's men's team defeated the Bearcats, 7-2, earlier this season during a Spring Break trip to Kansas City, Mo.

The women topped the Hilltoppers at home, 7-0, but did not face the Bronchos.

In the second half of the South Central Region's men's bracket, No. 2 seed Ouachita Baptist (15-6) will play host to No. 3 seed St. Edward's (12-9). On the women's side, Southwest Baptist welcomes Cameron for the #2 vs. #3 match.
