Abilene, Texas --- The Abilene Prairie Dogs announced Wednesday they have traded outfielder Lyndon Poole to the Washington Wild Things of the independent Frontier League in exchange for a player to be named later.

Poole last played in 2010 for the Schaumburg Flyers of the now-defunct independent Northern League. He hit .182 in six games with Schaumburg. Poole played a full season in 2009, splitting the year between the Flyers and the Tucson Toros of the now-defunct independent Golden Baseball League.

With the Flyers and Toros, Poole hit a combined .321 with three home runs and 16 RBIs in 67 games. He also had a career-high 23 stolen bases.

Poole, 25, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2006. The Dodgers sent him to their Rookie Ball Gulf Coast League affiliate, where he played the better part of three years.

Near the end of the 2008 season, Poole was called up to the Class AAA Las Vegas 51s of the Pacific Coast League. He played in one game for the 51s.

Now entering his sixth professional season, Poole has a .257 career batting average with five home runs and 47 RBIs.

The Abilene Prairie Dogs are a member of United League Baseball who will play their first season in 2012. Season ticket plans are on sale now, and are available by calling the Prairie Dogs front office at (325) 437-6555.
