18-Wheeler Catches Fire, Slows Traffic on US 84

According to the Snyder Fire Department, an 18-wheeler car carrier caught on fire at the intersection of US 84 and FM 612.

At one point both northbound and southbound lanes of US 84 were closed.

As of 3 p.m. the northbound lanes are open.

There have been no reports of injuries.

The Texas Department of Transportation, Department of Public Safety and Scurry County Sheriff's Office are assisting with traffic control.
