Waste Not, Want Not: HSU Green Team Aims to Conserve

By: Newsroom
Updated: April 25, 2012
Wednesday's record heat didn't stop Hardin-Simmons' students from enjoying a picnic under the sun.

As part of HSU's "Day Without Waste", the Green Team encouraged fellow students to use only recyclable and reusable materials.

The hope was to help students get a better idea of how much they toss out and what materials they use on a daily basis.

" So yeah, it  changes a little bit of what you do, but it's a good exercise  to kind of be thoughtful about the things that you're using and the way that you're consuming," said Kaitlyn Martin, a Green Team member.

The Green Team is celebrating Earth Day all week.
