Texas tech Head Football Coach Tommy Tuberville was in Abilene this afternoon to speak to the boosters.

Tuberville making the trip to West Texas to get the fans excited about the 2012 Red Raiders. Texas Tech has become the new home for several Big Country athletes in the last 8 to 10 years, and Coach Tubs loves what he sees from West Texas football players.

"I'd looked at the roster when I first got here two years ago, and I noticed we had a lot of players from this area on our team. They play very good high school football in this area, they are very well coached and developed. Clayton Nicolas, quarterback, a young guy this is a tremendous athlete, a very good competitor. Keenan Ward is different. He was a quarterback in high school, but he will either be a receiver but probably a defensive back for us." adds Coach Tuberville.

The Red Raiders start the season with Northwestern State in August.
