Pancake lovers rejoice! Your weekend has arrived. Saturday the Abilene Civic Center will be packed with all the flap jacks you can eat Courtesy of the Kiwanis club of Abilene.

This year marks the 63rd Annual Pancake day, and according to Randy Williams, the Kiwanis club has finally perfected the art of flipping pancakes!

"We expect to serve a little over 5,000 people," says Williams. "We will open up at eight o'clock in the morning and we'll serve people all the way through two o'clock in the afternoon."

A second serving period will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., for all those who like a late night breakfast.

The International House Of Pancakes, or IHOP as its more commonly known, donates all the batter used to cook the pancakes. But that's not all, visitors will also be able to feast on sausage, milk, coffee, and more staple breakfast foods.

All the money raised at the event, will help the Abilene Kiwanis club pour into the Abilene community.

"What it really benefits is the young people of this community," explains Williams. "The Kiwanis club is about children. A lot of these funds go to scholarships through our foundation, that are awarded every year to kids going into college and some that may already be in college."
