Police arrested 19-year-old James Miller (left), 17-year-old Hailey Morgan Patterson (middle) and 19-year-old Jon Michael Patterson (right) on second-degree felony charges of robbery.
The trio were originally identified as witnesses to Michael Higgins allegedly shooting Lloyd "Trey" Shelton at a residence at 856 Sammons Street after what appeared to be a drug deal gone awry.
Higgins told police after being arrested that Hailey, James and Jon agreed to lure the shooting victim to the residence by asking him to come sell them methamphetamine so James could fight him, according to the arrest warrant.
That plan quickly evolved to include robbing the shooting victim of his drugs and money with a gun Higgins purchased from Miller.
According to the arrest warrant, the group carried out their robbery plan, but when Shelton tried to run away Higgins shot him in the back.
After being released from the hospital, the shooting victim corroborated this story, according to the warrant.
