Mitchell Co. Authorities Investigating Suspected Sexual Predator

Officials in Mitchell County are checking into reports that a man arrested in Anson for sexually assaulting an elderly woman was contacting high school and middle school girls in Colorado City.
The Colorado City Record reports that Taylor Dering was in contact with the girls on Facebook and even tried to contact some of them by phone after finding their numbers on the social media site.
Dering was charged with sexual assault on April 13 for allegedly forcing his way into the home of an elderly woman in Anson and attacking her.
Dering also faces charges in Panola County of south Texas for sexual assault of a child.
Mitchell County officials say the don't know of any physical contact with any girls there.
Police say the man is suspected of being a sexual predator, and the incident should serve as a warning about the potential dangers of social media sites.
