Abilene to Receive $8 Million for Road Repairs

By: Kristin Anderson
Updated: April 27, 2012
Abilene is set to receive $8 million in funding for road repairs.

The city itself is getting $3.97 million, while the remaining $4.15 million will go through TxDOT.

All of the money will go towards projects that have not been decided on yet, but could not be done without this funding.

"Because we don't have any funding to do them it would be many years out, so this is a really good benefit to the entire area here to be able to do some of these projects and we can expedite their progression and actually be able to do them," says E'Lisa Smetana.

A board will meet May 21 to discuss which projects it will pick up for the funding.
