Women's Tennis Season Closes in ASC Semis

TYLER, Texas - McMurry saw its women's tennis season came to a close in the semifinals of the American Southwest Conference Championships,  with a 5-4 loss to UT-Dallas at the Tyler Tennis and Swim Center.

The War Hawks grabbed the early 2-1 lead after winning two-of-three doubles matches. After losing second doubles, McM got a win at the No. 3 position from Chelsea Miller and Hilary Stone, 8-4. At No. 1 doubles, Dana LeMieux and Sydney Gonzalez earned a 9-7 victory.

UTD jumped ahead in the team score, 3-2, with straight set wins at the Nos. 5 and 1 singles spots. At No. 6 singles, Autumn Patterson  came off the court with a 6-1, 6-2 win to knot the match at 3-3.

Brandy Curry would be the War Hawks only other victory, taking a 7-5, 6-2 win at fourth singles.

The Comets won the Nos. 2 and 3 matches for the 5-4 final score.
