'Click it or Ticket' Campaign Starts Tuesday

By: Natalie Ferrari
Updated: April 30, 2012
Law enforcement will now be cracking down on those who don't wear their seat belts.

Starting tomorrow, TxDOT will kick off their annual "Click it or Ticket" seat belt awareness campaign.

Drivers and passengers will all be ticketed for not wearing their seat belts as well as improperly buckling children into their seats.

Many drivers are still unaware of recent safety belt requirements that state all back seat passengers must be buckled up and children under 8 years old must ride in a safety or booster seat.

Fines could range anywhere from $25 to $250 in addition to court costs.
