Arlington, TX-With the Texas Rangers celebrating their 40th Anniversary in 2012, fans will have the opportunity to vote for the top players in the club's history.

The Rangers today announced the ballot to select the 40th Anniversary All-Time Team. Voting begins on Tuesday at texasrangers.com/alltimeteam and will continue through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 31.

The Texas Rangers 40th Anniversary All-Time team will be announced in June and its members will be honored on the club's annual Alumni Weekend, August 10-12. That will include the Rangers 40th Anniversary Weekend Luncheon on Friday, August 10 at the Arlington Convention Center. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at texasrangers.com or by calling 817-436-5933. Net proceeds benefit the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. The team will also be recognized in an on-field ceremony prior to the Saturday, August 11 game with the Detroit Tigers.

Fans will be asked to vote for one player at each position except outfield (3) and starting and relief pitchers (2 each). All individuals who submit completely filled-out ballots on-line will be automatically entered to win a chance at two tickets to the Dr Pepper Texas Rangers 40th Anniversary Weekend Luncheon. A total of five winners will be selected.

The ballot was compiled by taking the club's all-time leaders by games played at each position. The lists of pitchers were compiled by using the Rangers' all-time leaders for wins, starts, appearances, and saves. As a result, select players may be listed at more than one position.
