8 Wylie Tennis Players In The Finals

The Bulldogs took 10 players to the state tournament in 5 events, and now they are in a position to sweep all 5 state titles.
Rayce Roberson is in the boys singles final after sweeping through his 2 matches on Monday. He won his 1st round match, 6-3, 6-4. He followed that up with another straight sets victory, 6-4, 6-2. Roberson will take on Alex Brown from Lucas Lovejoy for the championship.
Delaney Schroeder cruised to the finals. She didn't lose a game in her 1st match winning, 6-0, 6-0. Schroeder won her semifinal match, 6-1, 6-1 to move on to the finals. Schroeder takes on Michelle Walker, Tomball Memorial on Tuesday at 9am.
Collin Bumann and Bryson Fowlkes won the doubles championship in 2011, and they are in a position to defend that title. Bumann and Fowlkes lost just 6 games in 2 matches to advance to the finals. They won the 1st round, 6-1, 6-3 and followed that win with a 6-2, 6-0 victory in the semi's. Bumann and Fowlkes take on a team from Groesbeck on Tuesday.
Shelby Corn and Whitney Frazier are in position for a state title, too. Corn and Frazier won in straight sets in both matches at the University of Texas. They take on a team from Argyle for the gold medal.
Miller Davis and Amanda Potts advanced to the finals in mixed doubles. Davis and Potts took their 1st round match, 6-3, 6-1, and their semifinal match, 7-5, 6-2. The state championship game is Tuesday night at 9 in the morning in Austin.
