The Shazam app for smart phones seems to be an excellent way to identify and gain information on those tunes whose titles and artists remain just out of reach of memory.

The free app is easy to install and load, and only takes a matter of seconds to identify songs.  I decided to test it out using songs from three very different genre's.   First we go back to the car.

The song  on the radio is  "Feel So Close" by Calvin Harris.  Sure enough, Shazam recognizes it within seconds.

Back inside, we decide to go for a bit more of a classical feel with Beethoven's "Fur Elise."  Unsure of the app's wealth of information, I was surprised to see it accurately identified the song.

Next up, the AC/DC classic rock song, "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap." Once again, Shazam nailed it.

Another great attribute, Shazam stores the researched songs, so the user can go back and find the song with ease.

Overall, the app seems to work flawlessly and is sure to relieve some headaches for those of us who can't quite remember who sings our new favorite song.
