The McMurry War Hawks proved last weekend that you don't have to be playing well going into your tournament in order to be successful. The War Hawks were losers in 7 of their last 9 regular season games, but turned around and beat East Division winner UT-Dallas in a best 2 out of 3 series.

Now, they are headed to Austin for the double elimination portion of the Tournament.

"We knew we needed to make the necessary adjustments going into playoffs. Every year you kind of kick it up an notch going into playoffs. We expect to be there every year because we are a quality ball club and I think we just had the right amount of focus there at the end of the year to get us into the next round." says Spencer Smith.

"Just knowing that we have a goal, and we wont be cheated on that goal. Our goal is to go out and win the conference championship and then to just keep advancing after that." adds Marcellous Biggins.

The 2nd half of the American Southwest Conference Tournament starts on Friday in Austin at Concordia. The War Hawks open against Mississippi College at 3.
