Turkey Chases People in Brownwood

After responding to a call of a dog bite on Monday night, Brownwood Animal Control Officer Nick Ferguson received a report that a turkey was chasing people on Melwood.

According to Ferguson, the turkey wandered up on the victims' property and chased a total of three adults around 9:00 p.m.

"The turkey had come to their home and was basically strutting his stuff," said Ferguson.

The bird was carefully captured by Ferguson and taken to the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center, which normally doesn't care for birds, but took the tom in since he was obviously someone's pet, according to Ferguson.

As of Wednesday afternoon, no one had claimed the turkey.

Ferguson stated that the owner may call him at 325-646-2525 or CTSAC at 3016 Milam Drive in Brownwood 325 646-0617.
