Matera Building Salvage Operations Continue Months After Destructive Fire

The salvage operation of the historic Matera Paper building that burned down in February continues.

Independent contractors hired by the building's owner have been on the property putting bricks onto wooden pallets.

According to the contractors, the owner of the building wants to salvage as much as he can to rebuild on the same property.

The preservation league only took part in the selling of the bricks the first few days and now has no more ties to the salvage process.
