Snyder Issues Boil Water Notice

By: Snyder Daily News
Updated: May 3, 2012
The City of Snyder has issued a boil notice for the city's water system.

Due to a loss of pressure in the system, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the city to issue the notice.

Water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled to ensure the destruction of bacteria and other microbes that may enter the system. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil for two minutes.

The city submitted water samples for testing this morning and expects results sometime Friday morning.

Water officials will notify customers when the notice has been lifted, which could be as early as Friday morning.

For questions or more information, contact water supervisor Chris Woodard at 573-3782.
