The American Southwest Conference Tournament continues on Friday down in Austin.

Concordia is the host of this portion of the tournament on their artificial turf field.

The McMurry War Hawks are not used to playing on Field Turf, so they practiced at Moore Stadium to get used to the way the ball bounces on the artificial field.

Pitcher Spencer Smith says, "We play on normal baseball fields most the time, with just normal grass, but you get true hops(on artificial grass) which is good, but it's also a little quicker, so you know it's good for us to get an adjustment out here."

The War Hawks Marcellous Biggins added, "It's good for us to come out on the football field just so we can practice and just get the reps that we need, so when we get out there on a turf field, we won't be surprised."

McMurry opens the 2nd half of the tournament on Friday at 3. The War Hawks take on Mississippi College.
