Brownwood Police were called to the 200 block of Fisk Avenue regarding suspicious activity around 8:23 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the report, officers located two duffel bags containing copper pipe and other scrap metals. The pipes appeared to have been thrown off of the roof of the Sid Richardson (aka Brownwood Hotel) building.

Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to gain access to the roof of the building.

A brief search of the building revealed no suspects, the report states.

According to police, a traffic stop was made on a vehicle which made six passes driving by the building and eventually pulled into the back parking lot.

This stop and contact with the two subjects in the vehicle revealed the identity of two subjects inside the building.

At the time of the report, the investigation was still underway.
