The Abilene High Eagles started the postseason today against Arlington Lamar. The Eagles hosting the Vikings for game 1 of this series at Blackburn Field.

We pick things up in the first inning. The Vikings strike first as a slow bouncer gives Lamar enough time to take the early 1-0 lead.

A brief lightning delay held up the game at the bottom of the second, but the Eagles came out strong in a bottom of the third two out rally.

Gabriel Chacon with the fly ball to shallow center. It will fall and William Pearson and Evan Willis will score to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.

Then Brandon Bollinger rips one into the outfield. Nate Kittley will come into to score to add to the Eagle lead.

Then to top it off Pate Hughes drills one down the line to the third baseman. His throw is way off base and it allows Gabriel Chacon to score. Its 4-1 Eagles.

Abilene High goes on to win it 5-1 and grab a 1 game lead heading into Saturday's game(s) in Arlington.

Coach Sanchez and winning pitcher Brandon Bollinger had this to say after the game.

"They havent let anything become a distraction, whether its been a lightning delay, or we've gotten down early, and they did all that with two outs again. We've had 32 2-out runs, and to add two more to that today and have it stick, its big for us" says Head Coach Scottie Sanchez.

"It's extremely important, we only play one game at home and to come out and get that first one when they have two at home, it makes it a lot easier to grab that second one there when we already have one." adds Pitcher Brandon Bollinger.
