Updated: May 6, 2012
Arson could have played a role in  a house that caught fire late last night.

The fire occurred at around 10 p.m. on the corner of N. 11 and Grape street.

According to Abilene fire department officials no one was living in the home and the electricity had been shut off.

Officials say they received the call saying smoke was coming out from a bedroom inside the  duplex. They quickly controlled the smoke .

Officials say the direct cause from the fire is unknown, but an arson case has been filed as a part of the investigation.
