Snyder City Council to Vote on Pet Limit Ordinance

By: Snyder Daily News
Updated: May 7, 2012
Snyder residents with more than four pets might find themselves facing citations if a proposed ordinance passes on its second reading when the city council meets Monday.

The council will consider and act upon the second reading of an ordinance that would limit the number of pets at a household to four, unless the owners receive a city-issued, multi-pet permit.

The ordinance's first reading passed unanimously during the council's April meeting.

Several residents, who said they breed dogs meaning they would need the permit, asked questions about the process and expressed concern about the ordinance at the April meeting. The problems created by owners of multiple pets, they said, were covered by other ordinances.

The council will meet in its chambers at city hall beginning at 5:30 p.m.
