An Abilene man was arrested on several charges following a disturbance Monday evening.

Police arrested 22-year-old Akeem Perkins on a total of eight charges, including one felony after being dispatched to a criminal trespass call at a south Abilene apartment complex.

Perkins reportedly was uncooperative and began resisting the officer when he tried to detain him.

Police say that's when Perkins tossed away a bag of illegal drugs and tried to run away.

When the officer caught up to him, he gave a false name and was found to be in possession of marijuana and be wanted on other warrants.

His bonds total almost $15,000.
