A driver lost control of her sport utility vehicle as she tried to merge from the Winters Freeway onto Interstate 20.

The SUV ran off the road and struck a tree around 9:45 this morning.

There were no injuries in this accident.

Police say wet roads and reduced visibility often lead to an increase number of traffic accidents if drivers fail to slow down.
