Woman Crashes into Tree, Sends Tire Flying

A woman was hurt this morning in a one-vehicle accident in south Abilene.

Police say it looks like she lost control of her pickup truck on South Danville about 9:30 this morning before running off the road and slamming into a tree.

The force was so strong that a front tire broke off and sailed more than 100 feet before it hit a parked car at a nearby business.

Police suspect she was driving too fast on the wet roads.

She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

There is no word on the extent of her injuries.
