The Abilene High Eagles are still alive in the playoffs after taking two of three from Arlington Lamar last week.

This week, the Eagles are getting ready to face Lubbock Coronado in the area round of the postseason. Head Coach Scottie Sanchez's team has won seven of it's last eight games, and they hope to continue their success against Coronado. An opportunity that head coach Scottie Sanchez is excited for.

"Everytime you get to keep playing, you've got an opportunityahead of you and we've got a team that went to the final four last year ahead of us and you know how exciting that is for us, and we're looking forward to it."

First and foremost, Eagles like Evan Willis, are glad to still be on the field playing baseball.

"I'm super excited, I'm thrilled right now," he said. "Just an extra week of practice is always fun. If baseball keeps going, I'm happy and so are the rest of these guys."
