APD: Man Arrested for Leaving Store with Unpaid Meat, Beer

Last night at 8:50 Officer Matt Allen was dispatched to a theft call at a north side business. A male subject was observed by store employees trying to leave with $61 of meat and beer without paying. Officer Allen placed the man under arrest for class B theft.

At 11:30 p.m. Officer Damien Hutchinson was dispatched to a disturbance call on the south side. The caller stated that one of the parties involved left at a high rate of speed. Officer Hutchinson stopped this vehicle in the 600 block of South Willis. The driver appeared intoxicated and failed the standardized field sobriety tests. This male subject was placed under arrest for DWI and asked to provide a breath sample. The breath sample was 0.097 and 0.099. He was charged with DWI with an open container.

And finally at 12:20 a.m. Officer Matt Allen was dispatched to a disturbance call at a north side business. Officer Allen contacted a male subject there that was very intoxicated and admitted that he had thrown a brick through the window at the store clerk. The store clerk was struck and suffered minor injuries. This male subject was placed under arrest for public intoxication and aggravated assault.
