Road Repairs Causing Problems for Abilene Drivers

By: Kristin Anderson
Updated: May 9, 2012
Some Abilene residents are complaining about loose gravel after some recent road repairs.

After the city sealed about 20 miles of roads in north and south Abilene, some drivers are experiencing loose gravel.

Though it seems like a hazard, the city said that this is normal and it will take about two months for the roads to even out, but drivers should always pay attention.

"Drivers should always drive cautiously," says city engineer Chad Carter. "And if there's a location where, that they perceive as a concern, they need to let us know."

The city plans to pick up the loose gravel in the next two months.
