They're calling them the "Baker's Dozen".

That's because law enforcement officers arrested 13 people who they believe were involved in a drug trafficking network all  around Brown County.

"This investigation that the Brown County Sheriff's Department is responsible for targeted the Brown County Distribution Network," said officer Jason Benefield who's part of the Brown County Sheriff's Office Narcotics division and played a key role in the case.

Officials say they're tied to a drug dealer referred to s as "Boss".

Keith Martin is a high profile drug trafficker who's had a network of dealers working for him in several counties.

"This subject as referred to as "Boss" is a major mover in narcotics," said Brown County Sheriff Bobby Grubbs.

Officials say they used cell phone records and surveillance video from transaction spots around Brownwood to catch the suspects.

The 13 were indicted for engaging in organized crime- mainly distributing drugs like marijuana through Martin's network.

He was responsible for moving several pounds of methamphetamine into several different counties including  Brown County, San Saba and Lampasis," said officer Benefield.

Brown County law enforcement say it's not the biggest bust they've had, but it's another opportunity to crack down on local drug activity

"Wer'e extremely aggressive the way we address it," said Grubbs.

Brownwood has been affiliated with several drug busts and officials say the cities' location plays a key role.

"Almost all roads lead in this," said Gurbbs, "A lot of these narcotics come in from Mexico go up into the Metroplex and then back down here to be distributed."

They want these arrests to send a fair warning to other dealers.

"We go to great lengths to tell them we don't want you here," said the Brownwood Sherriff.
