3:50 p.m. Update:
The Western Heritage Classic Parade and Street Dance have been cancelled due to rain.

Original Story:
The Western Heritage parade is scheduled this evening in downtown Abilene.

Organizers say they have never canceled the Western Heritage Parade, and they don't plan to cancel it this year either, unless there is lightning.

The Western Heritage Classic is a very popular event for the city with a ranch rodeo, spur and bit show and chuck wagon cook-off all scheduled this weekend at the Taylor County Expo Center.

The monthly ArtWalk is also scheduled this evening in downtown Abilene.
