Abilene Firefighters Brave Rain for Fill the Boot Campaign

By: Nora Hartfeil
Updated: May 10, 2012
As the rain clouds rolled in this afternoon, Abilene firefighters worked to fill their soggy boots with cash to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association as part of their Fill the Boot campaign.

J Sanders from the Abilene Fire Department says the harsh weather conditions force them to be on the lookout for emergency calls, even while fundraising.

AFD encourages everyone to stay in this evening to avoid dangerous driving conditions, but says if you must go out, please slow down.

They expect donations to be down today because of the rain, but they will also be collecting funds Friday and Saturday.
