Your latest KRBC Weather Lab forecast:

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for much of the southern half of the Big Country. The Watch lasts through Friday morning. This Watch does include Taylor county and the city of Abilene... A strong upper level storm system is going to bring the likely event of rain to the area for the rest of the night and on into Saturday as well.

Flooding concerns will... be ongoing due to the terrain here in the Big Country and the heavy rainfall expected to take place. Be careful of flooded roadways or even simple ponding of rainfall on area roads as well.

If everyone makes sure to drive with a great deal of common sense and drive to the context of the wet road conditions, the chance of accidents on area roads today and tonight will be greatly reduced. Slow it down and give the other drivers around you plenty of space and if you encounter a flooded roadway simply turn around, so you don't get swept away and possibly drown!

Tonight: Shower and storms with heavy rains and lows in the 50s.

Friday: More storms and rain showers and highs in the 70s.

Saturday: Rain showers possible with highs in the70s.

Sunday/ Mother's Day: Partly cloudy and dry with highs in the 70s.
