"It's wonderful. We were really needing it," says Janet Brannan.

"It's a lot better than the drought we went through last year," says Jerry Brittain.

Today the Big Country got some much needed rain. Along with that there were several wrecks and even flooding.

In some areas drivers underestimated the depth of the flooded waters while in other areas, flooding was not a problem at all.

"I kind of worried about that, but I've just come from Buffalo Gap, that's where I work, and it really wasn't that bad. Going home, I may run into some so i may have to call somebody to come get me," says Brannan.

With advanced warning and knowledge of how the roads around town get when it rains, many drivers took precaution.

"I just try to avoid any extremely flooded spots and stay to the high ground," says Brittain.

Some say they expected to see more rain than we actually got...But no matter how large or small the amount, residents are just happy to see the rain.

"Tired of having to work in it but it's worth it to get the lakes filled up and have some green grass," says Brittain.
