Voters across the Big Country will have their say in local races on Saturday, and a handful of city council and school board seats will be determined here in Abilene.

Only one city council seat is contested, as place two incumbent Joe Spano is seeking his third term as city councilman, challenged by Jim Holzberlein.

In City Council Place One, Shane Price is running uncontested.

There are three seats up for grabs in the Abilene ISD Board of Trustees, including incumbent Robert Laird facing a challenge from Charles Byrn for place one, Samuel Garcia running against Randy Piersall for place two, and Charlie Wolfe being challenged by Shane Davidson for place seven.

Wylie voters will pick the winners for two school board seats, including Ricky Thomas versus Stephen Lowry for place six, and Mark McClellan against John Thomas for place seven.
