Late Night Traffic Stop Yields Large Drug Bust in Anson

By: Victor Sotelo
Updated: May 11, 2012
Anson Police stopped a vehicle coming through town on their way to Clyde from Sacramento, CA and ended up recovering 12 pounds of marijuana.

Police say Chase Beaulieu (pictured left) of California and Logan Wade (right) of Clyde were nervous when they got pulled over at 2 in the morning.

Police asked where they were going and wondered why they were not on the interstate, so they called for a drug-sniffing dog.

Police say the street value on the drugs is about $36,000.

Both men are charged with possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone and are in jail on $50,000 bonds each.

At 2 a.m. there is no one at the school. That school zone stuff should be only used when kids are in school. Another fee added by our friendly politicians to rob people..that pot was likely medical marijuana that they brought to the Abilene area. I personally would rather see that being sold as it was likely US grown and likely not have harmful chemicals used in it's growing. unlike the [censored] pot the cartel dealers are selling to anyone that can put their money on the table. And the cartel dealers are likely to have [censored], herion, and pills that they try to push on your teens when they go to buy pot from them. This drug was is ruining the lives of millions of youg kids just like these two here. After the state gets through with them, they will be paying off the fines and fees with all of their extra money for years to come, if they don't catch prison for having a few pounds of a weed what was noy even though of until the drug war of the 1930's phony propagandist political attack on it.
