Bollinger K's 8 as Abilene High Takes Series Opener

The Abilene High Eagles took a big step toward the next round with a 4-2 win over Defending region Champ Lubbock Coronado on Friday night.

The Eagles looking for their 8th win in their last 9 games.

There was no score in the top of the 1st, when Michael Gonzales went shopping at the gap, bringing home Nate Kitley  making it 1-0 eagles.

A couple batters later, Will Pearson would join in on the fun with a 2-run single, Gonzales and Griffin Arterburn would come in as the Eagles took the 3-0 lead.

Later in the first, Craig Grossman laid down a nice squeeze bunt, that would bring home Pate Hughes  capping a 4-run 1st inning.

That would be plenty as Abilene High kept their roll going,  As they beat the region defending Region Champs 4-2. In the win Brandon Bollinger was terrific striking out eight. Abilene High will need to win one of two at home tomorrow to advance.
